This week the Democratic National Convention (DNC) took place. At the DNC, the final version of the Democratic platform was passed including the pro-LGBT planks.

On Wednesday, the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN) released their 2011 National School Climate Survey.

As the name suggests, the survey documents the school environments experienced by LGBT students. While the results show improvement over the 2009 survey, LGBT students still face very high incidents of bullying and victimization.

New Jersey Assemblyman Tim Eustace (D) plans to introduce a bill that would protect minors from harmful ex-gay therapy.

The billed, modeled after the one recently passed in California, would not outright ban ex-gay therapy but would make it illegal for those under the age of 18 to undergo “sexual orientation change efforts”.

The Dublin City Council passed a motion in favor of same-sex marriage on Tuesday.

Dublin City Council joins 2 other Irish City Councils and 4 Irish District Councils who all passed similar motions during the summer.
