About Jaime
Hey! I’m Jaime Skyler Kruse, known by some as J. Sky. I am originally from Salt Lake City, Utah and then made the move to St. Paul, Minnesota for college to pursue my degree in Social Justice. This is 100% me, my story, my experiences. I’m an honest person who is not afraid to state their views. I am open to questions, comments, and what have you in order to make this a blog that you feel like you are even more apart of.
Transitioning from high school to college is a huge one for anyone embarking on that journey, but starting the journey as one person and continuing as another, why, that’s a journey that not many people know how to grasp. As a transgender female-to-male myself, I know just how hard the journey can be. How do you tell you roommates, teammates, professors? What if you are a student athlete? How do you tell your family? Most important, how do you accept yourself? For those out there who are going through a similar journey, whether as a Trans* person or any other identity within the LGBTQIA alphabet, I want you to know that you are not alone.
Even though I am in college and will talk about what it is like transitioning from female-to-male during my college years, I will definitely share my stories from my whole life; coming out, overcoming hate, family, etc.
As a young person growing up in Utah who is not Mormon and an only child, I dealt with the feeling of being an outsider my whole life. Then just throw my Queerness into the mix and you got quite an interesting concoction. My life road has had many bumps throughout it, but I have made it through and still driving forward. I owe a lot of that to my amazing mom who has always been there for me no matter what.
This blog is for everyone. Even though I’m the one talking, I want this to be what you would like to hear, so please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, comments, topics, etc. This is a Safe Zone.
Remember, regardless to where you are on your own personal journey, as long as you are being true to yourself, The Sky’s The Limit!
