  • Week of November 13

    Nov 18th, 2011 2:26 PM EST

    • Alicia and Diane have to team up with legal aid on the appeal of a death row prisoner so that the prisoner will tell them who killed 2 people so they can clear the name of their original client.
    • Kalinda, in helping Alicia and Diane, goes to the ASA to sweet talk Cary but instead ends up sweet talking Cary’s latest love interest (and by sweet talk I mean full-on flirt with). The sexual tension between the two was amazing. Too bad Cary’s latest love interest said she isn’t a lesbian, to which Cary responds “I know a lot of people who weren’t anything until they met Kalinda.”
    • Will is starting to get in a bit over his head with the whole Alicia/Peter dynamic.
    • Peter’s mom, who for some strange reason still has a key to Alicia’s apartment, is starting to catch on that Alicia is sleeping with someone who isn’t Peter.
    • Eli’s latest attempt to help with a political campaign kinda blows up in his face when he finds out the candidate he’s been brought is planning on running for state senate, the same seat his ex-wife is running for.

    • It’s time for mash-up, so this year they host a mash off in which the Trouble Tones and New Directions compete head-to-head; New Directions performed a mash-up of 2 Hall & Oats songs “I Can’t Go For That” and “You Make My Dreams Come True” and the Trouble Tones perform a mash-up of 2 Adele songs “Rumour Has It” and “Someone Like You” (which is still #1 on iTunes).
    • This episode was very much centered around the fighting between Finn and Santana leading to a fun game of dodgeball in which New Directions get their butts kicked and is accompanied by a mash-up of Blondie’s “One Way or Another” and Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”.
    • Santana stepped up her verbal harassment of Finn which culminated in Finn outing Santana in the hallway for everyone to hear. He shouts down the hallway after her “Hey Santana, why don’t you just come out of the closet?”.
      • This whole event has sparked a lot of controversy, some think that Finn was justified in outing her because she was being so mean to him and others think that while Santana did take the insults too far, there is no justification for outing.
    • Quinn goes to Shelby and asks to join the Trouble Tones. After much thought and Puck telling Shelby about all the mean things Quinn did with the books and hot sauce, Shelby tells Quinn not only can she not join the Trouble Tones but she is also no longer allowed to see Beth.
    • Rachel drops out of the Senior class President race and endorses Kurt.
    • Finn’s outing of Santana has some unforeseen consequences in which the niece of one of Sue’s opponents for Congress heard the conversation and now her opponent has incorporated it into one of his smear ads against Sue, claiming that not only does she support gays because she has a lesbian head cheerleader (with pictures of Santana and everything) she is also not married and could therefore be a lesbian herself. • After performing “Rumour Has It”/”Someone Like You”, Santana confronts Finn and ends up slapping him.

The next episode is in two weeks

    • Claire has the whole family helping to collect things for one of the neighbors who lost everything in a house fire
    • Cam goes with Hailey and Alex to pick up a large truck to move all of the donations they have collected and Cam ends up having trouble with the truck
    • Claire and Mitchell have a fight about how they chose favorite parents when they were young and so she is turning Mitchell’s new found friendship with Gloria into a fight.
    • The muscles in Jay’s back begin to spasm from lifting to many boxes and Phil offers to give him a massage
    • Phil is offered a partnership at a new real estate firm that is opening but he doesn’t know if he wants to take the risk. He goes to Jay for advice and Jay tells him to go for it

No Grey’s Anatomy this week or for the rest of the calendar year, all new episodes return in January

    • Rachel and Finn, as well as Kurt and Blaine, end up having sex (at least we are told they have sex) in the last moments of the episode.

No Modern Family this week due to the Country Music Awards being on ABC.

    • Meredith finds out that she and Derek aren’t getting Zola back and informs Derek that Zola was her baby, now she’s gone and Meredith doesn’t want more kids.
    • Henry and Teddy are in the ER because Henry is coughing up blood. The Chief discovers it’s because he has a new tumor near his lung and they need to perform surgery to remove it.
      • Teddy doesn’t want the Chief to do it because he wouldn’t do it the way she would so she asks that Yang do it and they just wrap Henry’s face so she doesn’t know who the patient is.
      • The surgery ends up not going as planned and Henry ends up dying, but Teddy doesn’t know because she is in the middle of surgery.
    • Alex and Meredith have to go off on a journey to pick up a newborn who’s esophagus and wind pipe are connected in the wrong spot so she isn’t getting any oxygen. Their ambulance ends up breaking down in the middle of the road, on top of a hill, in the middle of a blind turn.
    • A woman Callie just discharged  is having her heart shredded by a screw that Jackson placed in her spine to help with her scoliosis and Callie is blaming herself. Teddy ends up operating with April.

This episode marked the last Grey’s Anatomy episode this year with all new episodes returning in January.
